more than just a football club...
Reigate Priory's history can be traced right back to 1870, not long after the FA was actually formed in 1863. In 1871, the club was one of only 15 teams that contested for a £20 silver trophy, the first ever FA Challenge Cup competition.Reigate Priory were also present when the Surrey FA (founded in 1887) decided to become affiliated to the FA on the 16th March 1882. The club was one of the original 10 teams present at the meeting that took place in Guildford. At the same time a County Senior Cup competition was introduced. The first winners of the Surrey Senior Cup were Reigate Priory who were victorious six times before the end of the century. For the season 2008/09 the club again finds itself being a founding member of a new league , The Surrey Elite Intermediate League and will enter the 1st and Reserve team squad. Additionally , it will run a further three senior sides playing in the Redhill & District League and a Vets over 35 team on a friendly basis.Reigate Priory continue to run its Youth Section and will be represented by an Under 16s, Under 13s and Under 11s. The junior teams have fed the men’s teams with many of our exciting young players. Each year we welcome new members to Reigate Priory, so if you are interested in joining an established, friendly and sociable club then please don't hesitate to contact us.
