Saturday 5th August 2006:
CREDIT SUISSE (3) 3 REIGATE PRIORY (1)2
Shears 2
Priory travelled to Beckenham to play Credit Suisse from the Southern Amateur League as part of their preseason preparation. Following on from the previous weeks good result to Three Bridges Reserves , Priory started well and went ahead when Reids cross was converted at the far post by Shears. For the first 15 mins Priory looked in command. However , Credit Suisse battled their way back into the game and had Priory chasing shadows during the next 30 mins. In his period Credit Suisse struck 3 times to go into the break with a comfortable lead.
With changes made at half time , giving all the 15 man squad playing time, Priory regained composure and with Chapmans defensive leadership , Priory looked to get their minds back on the task. Creating numerous chances with Reid , Branton & Hogg going close it took a Shears deflected shot to reduce the deficit . Whilst Priory continued to create chances , they were unable to avoid defeat.
Another good workout with players gaining valuable match fitness. Priory now move onto their next friendly away to Rusthall Reserves which will be equally challenging.
